A number of projects have been running for the last few years which have developed out of friendships and now incorporate a number of different community groups. Most of the actual work is carried out on a day-to-day basis by a small army of local volunteers who are passionate about being part of bringing positive change to the Kibera community. They are supported by volunteers from the UK who join the twice-yearly trips to Kibera and provide remote support throughout the year via electronic communications. During the Covid pandemic, all physical trips to Kenya have been curtailed, encouraging innovation in the ways we continue to encourage and support. Happily, we have been able to continue to operate and develop all our projects, albeit remotely from the UK.

Among the community groups we work with are:

In the UK we partner with Living Waters Social Enterprises charity for fundraising geared especially towards self-sustainable development projects.

Regretfully New Community Kibera (UK) has dissolved its partnership with ICA Kenya.
